My Mom and Friend Layout Instructions ~ Designed by Michelle

Stamping and Prep Instructions:

· Stamp large frame and journaling frame with Black Versafine ink and a flourish stamp. Apply Antique Linen Distress Ink to the entire surface of the frame to tone down the white background. Use a Chartreuse Leaf Nick Bantock Ink pad to add a bit of green to the edges of both frames.
· Stamp five flowers on dark red cardstock and three flowers on light red cardstock, then cut around the outer edge. Apply Lamp Black Nick Bantock ink to add dimension to the flower petals. Apply red Stickles to the flower centers.
· Stamp two each of the butterflies on white cardstock, then apply Nick Bantock Cerulean Azure and Chartreuse Leaf ink to the stamped images. Cut out butterflies, and accent two large butterflies and one profile butterfly with black stickles, placing small dots of glitter glue in a line down the body and on each antenna. When dry, layer the two profile butterflies, using adhesive to secure the bodies together. Leave the wings separate.
· Stamp MOM on cream cardstock and cut out leaving a tiny cream mat.
· Cut two sets of green leaves and one single leaf from floral paper. Apply black Stickles to the dots in the center of the leaves. Set aside to dry.
· Stamp journaling lines on a scrap of cream cardstock and use the journaling frame as a template to cut it out. Journal with the fine tip of a black Zig Writer.

Left Page
· Cut a 10” square of cream cardstock, then ink the edges green.
· Cut a 9.75” square of black dot paper and adhere to cream cardstock and center on floral background.
· Use the large frame as a template to trace the outer edge on red patterned paper, then cut inside the traced line and adhere behind the frame.
· Mat focal photo with black cardstock, then mat again with a slightly larger piece of cream cardstock. Apply green ink around the perimeter, then run the edges through a black ink pad. Stamp date with Heidi Swapp date stamp and write “my” on the top, right corner with a black Zig Writer. Shadow with a Platinum Zig Writer and highlight with a white gel pen.
· Adhere focal photo and MOM inside stamped frame.
· Write “and friend” with the bullet tip of a Black Zig writer below “MOM” and highlight and shadow.
· Arrange two dark red flowers, one light red flower, one set of leaves, and a large butterfly on the bottom left corner of the page.
· Adhere the layered profile butterfly on the right edge of the frame.

Right Page
· Cut a 1x12” strip of cream cardstock, ink one long edge green and adhere behind the 12” strip of dot paper left over from the left page. Adhere 1” from the left edge of a sheet of floral paper.
· Cut a 12” high x 9.75” wide piece of red patterned paper and adhere to the page, with the right edge aligned with the right edge of the background paper.
· Adhere three 4x6” photos to the page.
· Adhere the framed journaling block on the left edge of the top photo.
· Accent the bottom, left corner of the journaling block with two dark red flowers, a light red flower, and a double leaf. Place one of the dark red flowers across the seam of the two pages.
